Zachary is an associate representing alcoholic beverage suppliers and retailers, as well as their investors and service providers, in all phases of industry regulation. Zachary has a deep understanding of the California Alcoholic Beverage Control Act and the Federal Alcohol Administration Act, as well as related government guidance and regulations.

His practice includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, representation in administrative hearings, trade practice compliance, licensing, and defending against pre-litigation consumer letters. He also counsels clients on route-to-market strategy, online sales and e-commerce compliance, and marketing practices, and regularly drafts and negotiates distribution agreements with distributors of all sizes.

Prior to Hinman & Carmichael, Zachary was an associate at Baker McKenzie LLP. Zachary twice served as a judicial extern at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, working in the chambers of the Honorable Judge Charles R. Breyer and the Honorable Judge James Donato.
